Match vs BGCS
The annual match at Cavendish G C against the British Golf Collectors’ Society took place in glorious sunshine on July 7th. We scored a resounding win by 5 ½ matches to 2 ½ to regain the trophy relinquished last year.
As previously, hickory shafted clubs were used by some players on each side. By current standards Cavendish is a relatively short course (5721 yds) but which has been maintained true to MacKenzie’s original 1925 design incorporating many slick greens with significant deceptive borrows.
