0n Sunday 18th May the Society paid a welcome return visit to Hazel Grove GC, where MacKenzie carried out work to extend the course in 1920, to play a match against the club.
Teams of 12-a-side played on a glorious afternoon and the course was, as expected in superb condition with the greens running fast and true despite the dry weather throughout the month – a real credit to the Course Manager and his team.
The home team included Captains Ian Martin & Debbie Wilson and President Chris Jones and the Society were welcomed over lunch before matches commenced.
After a lovely meal of Roast Pork Loin the result was announced – home advantage proving too much to overcome resulting in a bruising 6-0 defeat for the Society. That being said, everyone agreed it was a wonderful afternoon played in great spirit and we hope to make a return visit soon.
