The team from Hadley Wood Golf Club successfully retained the Medallion, played at their home club at Hadley Wood on Sunday September 4th . The team, comprising the 3 successful players from the event at Bramall Park in 2021 scored 72 points, with Crowborough Beacon and Alwoodley tied on 70 points. On countback, Crowborough were placed second.
The best individual score was 38 points by Jim Dickson of Alwoodley. In addition to the customary prizes, and to celebrate the Centenary of the club, Hadley Wood G C also presented engraved glassware to the 3 top teams.
The course showed the consequence of the recent very dry weather, but the greens were in particularly fine and true condition (stimpimg 10.3) with some tricky pin positions. The welcome and the hospitality at the club were greatly appreciated by all the visitors.
Morecambe Golf Club will host the 2023 Medallion on Sunday, September 3rd.
